Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba will conclude his three-day visit to Turkey today.

Kuleba’s visit has been centered around the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, a platform for heads of state to discuss international issues and global challenges, including developments in the Middle East, the global energy sector and the fight against extremism. During the visit, Kuleba spoke on the future of energy yesterday and held bilateral meetings with the foreign ministers of countries in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Central and Eastern Europe.

Expect Kuleba to focus on developing diplomatic relationships with participating countries at the forum to build support for Ukraine’s Crimean Platform Initiative, which prioritizes facilitating an end to the Russian occupation of Crimea, an effort Turkey signaled its support for last month. Gaining international support for the initiative, especially among European and Asian countries, will be highly important in Ukraine and Kuleba’s push for a Russian withdrawal from Crimea. In addition, expect Turkey’s support for the initiative to help Kuleba convince his European counterparts participating in the forum to lend their support to the initiative as well.
